Courtney Trouble likes to find sexiness in the shadows, in places where nobody else dares to look. She likes to challenge the sex norms and values by using dykes, trannies, BBWs, and other alternative life stylists to express eroticism in a way that blows away anything found on mainstream. In fact, Courtney’s porn is so different from the norm; a whole other niche had to be created for it. Her first site: Nofauxx.com was the first site to take on the moniker of “Queer Porn”.

Queer Porn

Courtney’s online biography declares this curvy punk rock beauty with Betty Davis eyes as the one responsible for coining the term “Queer Porn”. While most adult stores like to categorize it as Lesbian or Gay, Queer Porn is different animal from Lesbian Porn or Gay Porn. The players in Queer Porn do not like to be so easily defined sexually. Queer Porn is a place where people of various gender identities can mingle and bang each other, turning each other and the audience on. Courtney’s studio was one of the first to open its doors to transsexuals, and her videos often include performances from a hodge podge of sexual identities from Queer Femme Switches (like Courtney herself) to FTM’s (female to male transsexuals) to those freaky heteros.

Growing Up

Being raised primarily by her single father in Tacoma (let’s just say Seattle) Washington, Courtney was a tomboyish daddy’s girl who liked camping and computers. Even at a young age, she was always interested in the different varieties of sex and experimented with both girls and boys. Her family was already very open and diverse and did not have an issue with her indentifying herself as queer. Her first involvement in the sex industry was a phone sex job at the age of 18. She also started a zine titled “Fat Girl Breakdown”, which was inspired by the performance artist Nomy Lamm, a self described “Jewish Amputee Fat Girl”.

She was always drawn to the sex industry, and after discovering the first alt porn sites, she decided that she was going to build her own alternative site, except hers would not follow the same formula as the mainstream sites. Her site, Nofauxx.com, became an all inclusive porn site featuring raw portraits and performances from a wide range of different bodies, races and gender identities. Despite her refusal to “sell out” to the mainstream’s conception of alternative porn, Courtney’s sites gained a steady following and helped set the stage for the next evolution of Queer Porn.

Tubes and TVs

Courtney’s Queer Porn Empire has recently expanded to include both Queerporn.tv and Queerporntube.com. Queer Porn TV is a site that features exclusive hardcore content that members can stream live or download for viewing later. It includes many of the stars that have worked with Courtney from the start including Jiz Lee, Wolf Hudson, Maggie Mayhem, and Sophia St. James. There is also tons of free content on this site, including video interviews with your favorite stars. Courtney’s Queer Porn Tube site is the first tube site that caters directly to the queer and sex positive community. It features user generated (never copyrighted) material that users can access, share and comment upon.

Behind and In Front

Besides all of her online trailblazing, Courtney has also become quite accomplished both behind and in front of the camera. She has directed and edited a total of 11 films for Reel Queer Productions, including the award winning “Roulette” and “Seven Minutes in Heaven” series. Her latest film “Live Sex Show” was recently released under her new company TROUBLEfilms and was shot in front of a live audience during 2010’s Masturbate-a-Thon in San Francisco. The film features performances by April Flores, Nina Hartley, and Courtney herself who helps bring film to its climatic end with its 5 on 1 gangbang spectacular. Trouble believes performing in front of the camera is not only something that is very arousing, but also essential in helping her become a better director, helping prepare her for the “emotional, technical, and social aspects of shooting a hardcore scene.”
